For generations jewellery has marked the moments people never want to forget, and we are interested in a different moment, the one just before.
FLORÉ comes from the instant before a tulip opens, when the petals begin to separate, light enters the form and something hidden shows itself for the first time. We translated that movement into flowing surfaces with open spaces between them.
MILANÉ comes from the wing of a swallow, half open, just before it turns. From it comes a long line that forks at its end and runs through every piece in the series.
Two motifs, two lines, and both tell the same instant, the one the form is meant to carry at VAN TOL; that is why we design it finished rather than handing it to you to assemble.
